How a command works
Every shortcut is a thin wrapper around one function. Your CLAUDE.md supplies the sheet details, so the prompt can stay short.
1Pick a prefix
This guide uses ts03 (named after the trimester it was built for, TS-03). Keep it, or rename it to anything short (todo, exp, ts04) and use it everywhere.
To rename before installing:
sed 's/ts03/todo/g; s/TS03/TODO/g; s/TS-03/TODO/g' templates/zshrc-tracker.sh > /tmp/tracker.sh
(Then use /tmp/tracker.sh in Step 2.)
2Install the pack
From the repo folder:
cat templates/zshrc-tracker.sh >> ~/.zshrc
source ~/.zshrc
Edit the sheet ID line if you want it available for ad-hoc prompts:
nano ~/.zshrc # find TS03_SHEET="your_sheet_id_here"
The core function:
ts03() { claude -p --model sonnet "TS-03 tracker: $*"; }
-p: print the answer and exit--model sonnet: faster for lookups (remove to use your default model)"TS-03 tracker: $*": passes your words;CLAUDE.mddefines what "TS-03 tracker" means
3Verify

5Learn the typing rules
- No quotes needed with shortcuts:
ts03 whats due this week. - Avoid a bare
?at the end of unquoted text. zsh treats?as a filename wildcard (no matches found). Drop it, or quote everything:ts03 "whats due this week?". The pack setssetopt no_nomatchas a safety net. - Variables must match exactly:
$TS03_SHEET. A typo expands to nothing and Claude goes searching other apps. - Check before writing: run
ts03-checkbeforets03-fix.
History shortcuts:
| Keys / command | Does |
|---|---|
ctrl + r, type part of a command |
Search history (ctrl + r again for older) |
ctrl + p / ctrl + n |
Previous / next command |
!! |
Re-run last command |
!ts03 |
Re-run the last command starting with ts03 |
history \| grep ts03 |
List past tracker commands |
The pack sets setopt hist_verify, so ! expansions appear for review before running.
